Privacy
The short version: nothing you type, guess or choose on Giggle Fern leaves your browser.
No accounts, no uploads
There is nothing to sign up for. The jokes, riddles, puns and card layouts are part of the pages themselves, and every tool works on your device. Your riddle guesses, the knock-knock jokes and cards you write, and your card choices are never sent anywhere.
What is stored in your browser
Giggle Fern does not use cookies. It saves two things in your browser's local storage, and only after you ask for them:
gigglefern-theme: light or dark, if you change the colour theme with the button in the header.gigglefern-kept: the short codes (such asfood-3) of the dad jokes you press Keep on.
Riddle scores, the jokes you write and the cards you pick are kept only while the page is open. To remove what is stored, use Clear next to your kept jokes, switch the theme back to Auto, or clear this site's data in your browser settings.
Copying, sharing and printing
The site writes to your clipboard only when you press a copy button, and never reads from it. Share hands the text to your device's own share menu; Giggle Fern doesn't see where it goes. Printing and saving as PDF are done by your browser.
Analytics
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or cross-site tracking and never receives what you type, paste or choose in the tools.
Hosting and links
The pages are delivered by Cloudflare's network, which, like any web host, receives your IP address and basic browser details in order to send you the pages. Links to other websites, including the ones in the footer, take you to sites with their own privacy policies.
Children
Giggle Fern is made for all ages. It has no accounts, no chat and no forms that send anything, so there is no way for a child to share personal details through the site.
